May LI is a professor of linguistics and director of the MTI Center of Tongji University，Shanghai, China. She serves as Vice President of Shanghai Translation Society of Science and Technology. In addition to her teaching and research in technology communication, she is active in promoting TC at universities and to the general public and offers advice to the local government. She was awarded the Contribution to Technical Communication Education Award by China Association for Standardization (CAS) in 2020.
